London Fashion Week will soon be here and with jewellery a stirring and formidable category in it’s own right these days there are more than a handful of designers who will be upping the ante with incredible new collections.
One of these jewel masters is Katie Rowland, who was named as 2011’s UK New Designer of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards.
Rowland’s jewellery is designed with sex in mind. It ripples beneath the surface of this sexy jewellery which screams femininity. With the words lust, escapism and pleasure featuring heavily in the design thought-process, Rowland creates luxe rocks and slightly risque pieces that are designed to be worn with very little else. The AW11 lookbook preaches this theory with sensuous shots of a scantily clad blonde bombshell draped in semi-precious stones and layers of gold chain.
What is next for SS12…….?
Mawi London have collaborated with Disney Couture for AW11 to produce a limited edition collection celebrating Miss Minnie Mouse. Unsurprisingly we can rely on Mawi to inject a collaboration like this with a little edge producing covetable statement jewellery that will be a style hit not a naff fad!
Insanely striking mega jewels from Shourouk for AW11.

Skulls are still very much haunting the style stakes and these cufflinks from Ralph Lauren’s Purple Label are exquisitely spooky! White Gold with diamond eyes that pop forward when you open the jaws and a T bar shaped like cross bones.
